The Benefits of Changing Your Environment

The Benefits of Changing Your Environment

First, what do I mean by environment, I’m referring to several things including your physical location, the things and space that surround you and the space that you occupy.

Recently, I did something different, I stayed overnight at a location just 15 minutes from my home. Initially, I only planned to stay one night but after getting there, I decided to stay a second night.

What happened, why did my plans change?

What happened was that I underestimated the benefits of change, changing my scenery and my environment. The break in my daily routine, the options of doing things differently. The option of doing something else entirely, the exposure to different smells, being surrounded by different things. All my senses felt awakened and I woke up the next day wanting to extend the experience for as long as time permitted. Just walking on a different ground, touching different things, even the simple act of bending down to avoid a tree branch or picking up a rock that I wouldn’t have touched had I not left my home, all culminated into this very beautiful experience that left me feeling recharged. But I feel like just saying recharged is not good enough, I think awakened might be better because all my senses were stimulated but in addition to that, I felt elevated in every realm, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

Changing your environment, changing your scenery, changing where you spend your time, changing those you spend your time around, changing where you sit, changing what you see, changing what you smell, or even bringing around new scents can all be natural remedies in a way.

I don’t think it matters what we do or where we go, or how far we go even. I think what matters most is that we change our environment, and do something different.

Whatever we decide to do, I think we need this change. Yes, NEED!

I think that some of us greatly underestimate the benefits of changing our environment. I think that when we think of change and or changing our environment, we are always thinking in terms of big events, such as moving, going on vacation to one of the many “vacation destinations”, starting a new gig, or picking up a new hobby or even embarking on a new journey of some sort. We don’t give enough thought into “little” things like incorporating actually stepping outside 1st thing in the morning or going for a walk after a meal in the evening or changing up our offices and where we sit or rearranging our room and where we sleep.

The “smallest things” can make the biggest difference on our psyche. Sometimes we don’t know what we need until we get it or do it or experience it.

I challenge U to change something after reading this. I’m not going to tell U to do a specific thing, Nope, U get to decide.

Decide what U are going to change,

Decide what U are going to do differently or better yet,

Decide what U will no longer be doing.

Just CHANGE YOUR ENVIRONMNENT SOMEHOW and see what happens.

Make a note of what you changed, how you changed it and pay close attention to your reaction to the change. How does it make you feel? Are you more inspired to behave a certain way? Do you think the change was a mistake or wish you had done so sooner? Really take inventory of everything that pops into your mind. Take an account of every expression even those no one else may notice if not paying close attention so that you can see what you may want to continue doing or what you may want to adjust for a next time if there is a next time.

I believe that similar to how our bodies are made to move, our minds require different stimuli to function at its best. We have to keep it active and expand it and one easy way to do that is by changing our environment, scenery, behavior, etc.,

I hope that this blog uplifts U and that your execution of this challenge uplifts U mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically as well.

Until next time, take care of yourself like U do others and share your thoughts in the comments. Looking forward to reading your “change” plans 😁.
